About this guideInspect a supported v2 Blueprint string without treating its rendered map as proof that the build will place, flow, or run correctly.

What it is for

The Blueprint Inspector is a read-only view for supported Sandustry Blueprint strings. It can summarize a v2 Blueprint, show its bounds and structure types, expose available filters, data records, and signal links, and render a map for visual checking. It helps you understand what a string contains; it does not simulate placement, power, fluid flow, production, or long-running factory behavior.

Open the Sandustry Tools homepage and choose Inspector in the app. Use the homepage rather than bookmarking /inspect: the GitHub Pages deployment may return a 404 for a deep route opened directly. The local Community tools page explains how this fits with the other references.

Privacy and backups

The upstream app is intended to inspect the string in your browser without an account. A pasted string still passes through your clipboard and browser session, so do not paste a private Blueprint on a shared device. Keep the original string in a safe place before trimming, converting, or sharing it; an inspection result is not a replacement backup.

Format and version limits

The Inspector focuses on supported v2 strings. Legacy v1 data may need conversion in the Blueprint Codec first, and a string from a different game or tool version can fail to decode or omit details. A successful render only means that the parser recognized the available data. Check Research unlocks, materials, directions, terrain, and receiving space in the current save before placing the Blueprint.

To find layouts visually, use SandPrints. To create or exchange a Blueprint in game, follow the Blueprint guide.
